Purpose The purpose of this standard is to set an overall dimensional requirement of a battery cell for rail transit applications so that all battery manufacturers can produce the same physical dimension (i.e., AA, AAA, C & D battery for consumer electronics). Since the same rating battery is being produced in different cell sizes (wide x height x length) to suit customer battery box requirements, thus creating a customized battery. We believe that a common battery for a joint purchase will greatly reduce the price. Status
