MEETING OF WORKING GROUP #2
COMMUNICATION BASED TRAIN CONTROL
PERFORMANCE AND FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS

To: WG2 Members and Friends

The next meeting of the IEEE RTVISC Working Group #2 will be hosted by  the Volpe Center in Cambridge on September 30, 1998.

The objectives of this meeting will be to follow-up on action items from the previous WG2 meeting (held on July 15, 1998), to review  revisions to Section 5.3 (System Safety) and 5.4 (System Availability), and to continue detailed reviews of Sections 6.1   (Automatic Train Protection functions) and 6.2 (Automatic Train  Operations functions) of the proposed standard, draft D4.0, issued on August 30, 1998.

The meeting location will be on the 12th floor of the Management  Information Center (MIC). Meeting attendees should sign-in at the  main entrance to the Volpe Center at 55 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02142.  Because of security requirements at the Center, a photo ID may be required, and it is also important that you let me know if you plan  to attend (if you have not already done so) so that badges can be prepared in advance..

The meeting will commence at 8:30 am and is expected run through until 5:00 pm. A lunch will be provided, at approximately $10 per head (unless I can  find a sponsor for lunch in the interim - any volunteers?).
