The Destination Map

A Cycle of Excellence

Instead of isolated pillars, our strategic plan is structured around three core destinations. These destinations do not sit in silos; they form an interconnected plan where success in one area helps fuel progress in the others.

Three Destinations

Each destination carries two waypoints, the focused areas of work that move us toward it.

A cycle, not a checklist; progress in one destination fuels the next.

A Multi-Year Strategic Journey

The Thompson Horizon Strategic Plan (2026–2031) is a dynamic, multi-year roadmap designed to guide the district over the next five years. Systemic improvement does not happen overnight; therefore, the action steps outlined within each destination and waypoint are intentionally sequenced to unfold over time.

Many of these initiatives build upon one another — establishing essential foundational structures first so that subsequent phases can deepen practice, expand capacity, and drive sustainable, long-term outcomes for our students, staff, and community.

Moving from Vision to Measurement

Following the formal adoption of this strategic plan, Thompson School District will develop Strategic Scorecards. While this plan outlines where we are going and how we intend to get there, the scorecards will serve as our operational gauge — providing key performance indicators (KPIs), clear benchmarks, and measurable opportunities to track progress, ensure transparency, and continuously evaluate the impact of our work across all three destinations.

Values guide us. The map moves us.

The Thompson Compass names what we stand for and the Portrait of a TSD Graduate names what we build in every student. The Destination Map is how we get there together.
