Thompson School District (TSD) held an in-person Equity Implementation Open House on March 31, 2022, which included an online survey that was open until April 20, 2022, to provide feedback and questions on the Equity Implementation Plans developed by TSD community stakeholders in alignment with the five areas of TSD’s Equity Framework:

  • Multilingual Communication
  • Culturally Competent and Diverse Staff
  • Equitable Resource Allocation
  • Inclusive Family/Guardian and Community Input
  • Professional Learning for Equity
Open House Participants

The attendees at the event included community stakeholders such as non-parents, parents, family members of TSD students, a few children, TSD staff, TSD Administrators, and TSD Board Members. District leaders responded to themes found within the many questions asked at the in-person and online survey, Open House Questions and Answers.

Community Input on Suggested Strategies for School Years 2022-2023 and 2023-2024

Multilingual Communication

Eighty-three percent of broad community participants demonstrated readiness and interest in the strategies listed in Multilingual Communication. Seventeen percent of respondents indicated that they had questions about the strategies suggested for Multilingual Communication.

Culturally Competent and Diverse Staff

Fifty-six percent of broad community participants demonstrated readiness and interest for the strategies listed in Culturally Competent and Diverse Staff. Forty-four percent of responses indicated they had questions about the strategies suggested for Culturally Competent and Diverse Staff.

Equitable Resource Allocation

Sixty-three percent of broad community participants demonstrated readiness and interest for the strategies listed in Equitable Resource Allocation. Thirty-seven percent of responses indicated that they had questions about the strategies suggested for Equitable Resource Allocation.

Inclusive Family/Guardian and Community Input

Sixty-one percent of broad community participants demonstrated readiness and interest for the strategies listed in Inclusive Family/Guardian and Community Input. Thirty-nine percent of respondents indicated that they had questions about the strategies suggested for Inclusive Family/Guardian and Community Input.

Professional Learning for Equity

Thirty-nine percent of broad community participants demonstrated readiness and interest for the strategies listed in Professional Learning for Equity.
