The Agriculture program is located Berthoud High School and Thompson Valley School. Transportation may be arranged for students at other high schools who wish to participate in this program.

Applied Agriculture Technology (5970, 5971)

Pathway: Applied Agriculture Technology Pathway

Grades 10, 11, 12

The Applied Agriculture Technology course provides students with the opportunity to focus on topic areas related to the use of technology in agriculture, applying technological processes to solve real problems, and developing knowledge and skills to design, modify, use, and apply technology appropriately. Students may design and assemble projects and learn to work with different digital applications to complete tasks like aerial forestry management, land surveys, infrastructure repair, wildlife counts, crop analysis, and herd management. There will be a particular focus on drones and unmanned technology, including GIS and robotics, as well as agrivoltaics (the application of hybrid food supply and power systems, such as integrated solar).

Principles of Animal and Vet Science A/B (5910,5911)

  • Develop knowledge, skills, and understanding in the biological processes and physiological systems found in livestock and companion animal species
  • Explore anatomy and physiology, growth and development, muscular and skeletal systems, integumentary system, respiratory and circulatory systems, nervous system, lymphatic and endocrine systems, and excretory system
  • Enhance knowledge about the scientific process including observation, hypothesizing, data gathering, interpretation, analysis, and application
