FCA, School Closure Evaluation

In accordance with Policy FC, School Utilization Ranges, when a school is identified as Service Level “U”, an evaluation for closure must be initiated.

School service levels will be determined annually, based on the current October Count, no later than the 15th of November. A designation of Service Level “U” requires an initial evaluation as specified in Policy FCA-R. This evaluation will be accomplished by the Planning department and the results reported at the first Board meeting in January.

If the initial evaluation finds that closing the school is feasible, the procedures and timelines listed in Policy FCA-R will be followed.
