HL, Preliminary Negotiated Agreement Disposition
Tentative agreements reached during negotiations shall be put in writing in a memorandum of understanding (MOU) and shall have the conditional approval of both parties. Final agreement on any matter in negotiations shall be reached only when the parties have tentative agreement on all matters in negotiation.
Tentative agreement by either party is necessarily conditional upon tentative agreement by both parties, and statements of the agreed-upon articles shall be dated and initialed by both parties.
A tentative agreement on all matters in the MOU first shall be subject to ratification by the Thompson Education Association (TEA). Following ratification by the TEA, the tentative MOU shall be submitted to the Board of Education for ratification at an official meeting which shall take place prior to the expiration of the current MOU.
After ratification by both parties, the chief officers of the Board and the TEA shall sign the ratified agreement.
