The district believes online learning can serve as an effective tool for providing educational opportunities for students and staff. It is a valuable resource expanding educational opportunities for students at all levels of achievement. Online learning can provide, enhance, supplement and enrich district curriculum and create additional means for instruction and collaboration. Online learning allows schools and teachers to extend curricular opportunities to students that add value to the educational process for the purpose of increasing overall student achievement.

Online learning will be a part of the district instructional program to increase accessibility and flexibility in the delivery of instruction. As a goal of the district is that all students will graduate with meaningful choices for their future as a result of the quality instruction and rigorous curricula in district schools, curriculum developed for the online learning environment will maintain teaching/learning pedagogies that are aligned with district expectations. To assure high quality learning opportunities, the district will ensure quality curriculum and quality instruction for online learning.
