The Maintenance team is comprised of the Building and Grounds Maintenance Departments. This dedicated group plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity and safety of our buildings and sites, ensuring that every school is not only functional but also an inspiring place for students to learn and grow.

Building Maintenance

At Thompson School District's Building Maintenance department, our mission is to provide a safe, functioning and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and the entire school community. We are dedicated to ensuring that all facilities, from classrooms to lunch tables, are in optimal condition to support educational excellence. Our team is committed to timely repairs, preventative maintenance, and sustainability efforts that enhance the learning experience while ensuring students can thrive and achieve their full potential. There are 15 dedicated staff members from the following trades: carpentry. door hardware, electrical, HVAC, painting, plumbing, and preventative maintenance.

Grounds Maintenance

The Thompson School District's Grounds Grew plays a crucial role in maintaining, repairing and enhancing all turf, parking lots, playgrounds, landscaping and hardscape areas across the districts properties. This dedicated team of 10 full-time staff members with additional seasonal employees during the summer, ensures the upkeep of approximately 200 acres of irrigated turf, 72 acres of asphalt, 1866 trees and 12 acres of playgrounds.

In addition to routine maintenance, the Grounds Crew is actively involved in special projects that enrich our outdoor spaces, such as creating community gardens, constructing outdoor classrooms, and improving site curb appeal. During the winter months, this team also leads the district's snow removal efforts, ensuring that all sites remain accessible and safe for students, staff, and visitors.

Their work reflects a deep pride in making Thompson School District Grounds welcoming, attractive, and functional, recognizing that these spaces are the first and last impression for student, staff, and community members alike.
