Choice Enrollment

Thompson School District has a learning environment for all students.

You always have a place at your neighborhood school, but may choose to enroll your student in a school outside of your neighborhood school. Families living outside of the Thompson School District boundaries should use the Open Enrollment process for their students. 

Choice Enrollment registration for the 2026-27 school year is open November 3, 2025 through January 30, 2026.

Choice Timeline

  • Choice Enrollment will open on the First School Day in November and close the Last School Day in January.
  • 9th grade offers of admission sent the First School Week in February.
  • 6th grade offers of admission sent the Second School Week in February.
  • Remaining Admissions sent on or before the last school day in February. 
  • Acceptance Deadline: All grade levels have five school days after the offer of admission to accept or reject the seat. 
  • Start Date/Waitlist Expiration: First school day of the following school year. 

Three-Step Choice Enrollment Process

  1. Complete and submit the choice enrollment application. You should receive a confirmation email with additional information.
  2. Thompson School District reviews applications and includes eligible applications in a lottery. Results are published to Family Dashboard.
  3. If offered a seat, families must accept seat within five business days.
