Stipends and Credit Options
Staff may apply for either event pay or a presenter stipend* for a given day. If participating on both days, they may choose a different compensation type for each day.
May 26th - Summer Symposium
- $250 stipend for presenters*
- .5 TIC will be paid for each licensed attendee who is not receiving presenter pay.
May 27th - Technanigans
- $250 stipend for presenters*
- .5 TIC available for purchase for the conference day

Technanigans Book Study, June 2026
Get the most out of your Technanigans experience!
An asynchronous book study opportunity on Holly Clark's book, The AI Infused Classroom, will be offered following the Technanigans event for all TSD Staff.
Participants will dive deep into Holly Clark’s book The AI Infused Classroom. Through weekly readings, collaborative discussions, and hands-on MagicSchool AI Rooms, teachers will develop a ready-to-use AI implementation plan for the upcoming school year.
- The book study is 15 hours of work, which is eligible for 1.0 TIC ($30)
- A complimentary copy of Holly Clark's book, The AI Infused Classroom, will be provided to book study participants.
Thompson Incentive Credit
Certified TSD educators may purchase .5 TIC for $25 for the Technanigans Conference.
To receive TIC credit:
- Select the type of credit (TIC) that you would like to receive on your registration form.
- All staff who attend the Technanigans event will receive Professional Development Contact hours, whether they attend for one hour or the whole day.
- A Sign-in System will be used to track attendance during each session.
- Please select the TIC* option on the registration form to select/purchase the Thompson Incentive Credit (TIC). (*Participants must attend 7.5 hours to be eligible for TIC.)
- Participant rosters will be added to Learning Pro, and a notification will be sent from the system.
*Presenter Payment Information
TSD staff providing a presentation for either Summer Symposium or Technanigans will receive compensation of $250.
TSD presenters who accept payment can also receive an attendance certificate for relicensure credit but will NOT be eligible to purchase TIC for the conference day that they present and receive a stipend.
Staff presenters are eligible for a total of $500 in stipends--$250 per day
Employee Compensation to Attend Technanigans
Get paid to attend Technanigans!
Stipends are available to pay 15 participants (classified or certified) at their hourly rate for 7.5 hours of attendance. The hourly rate for certified staff is $36.91.
Classified staff will be compensated at their regular hourly rate. Due to the Monday holiday, classified staff will not be scheduled for hours that would result in overtime pay.
Requirements:
- Staff must be off-contract during the dates of the event to qualify for the stipend.
- Stipend recipients must sign the attendance sheet at the registration table at the conclusion of the conference to receive payment.
- Stipend recipients must attend the entire day to receive payment.
- The application form must be filled out before the window closes on May 1, 2026.
Limitations:
- Because opportunities for staff payment are grant-funded, staff may only apply for payment for the event OR the presenter stipend.
- Those who receive a stipend for attendance are not eligible to receive Thompson Incentive Credit.
Please note:
ALL Thompson Incentive Credit options require dual approval from the PD Director and the TEA President (Thompson School District & Thompson Education Association, 2025–2027, Attachment 4; Appendix K, item 4.b) and are not guaranteed until an agreement has been reached.
