Big Thompson Elementary School

Our Vision

Big T provides a unique learning environment by integrating STEM, nature and wellness through an inclusive, collaborative community of students, staff, parents and local partnerships. We are committed to excellence and emphasize inquiry-based, hands-on and student-focused learning.

Our students embody these STEM Learner Profiles as they engage in learning that integrates literacy, math, science, social studies and special area classes in a hands-on, real-world approach to solving problems and asking questions that involves not only their classroom and their school community, but also the greater Big T community.

Additional Learning Opportunities

Art, Music, PE, Library, Technology and Innovation are included as well as a 3-acre outdoor learning center, flume and two interactive play areas that include a climbing wall, trail and observation deck.

Student Support Services

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) is supported at Big T by a full-time counselor. Through varied approaches (Well Managed Schools, Positive Behavior Intervention Supports and Zones of Regulation), we support our students as they navigate their school day.

Family and Community Involvement

Volunteers are a big part of who makes our school successful and inviting. Our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and School Accountability Committee (SAC) are both strong, supportive organizations at Big T.
