Walt Clark Middle School
Walt Clark Middle School offers a STEM approach to learning. STEM is our educational focus based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines - science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Through the STEM focus, students engage in inquiry, problem-based lessons and projects to ensure students are gaining the skills they need to be productive citizens in our community.
As a STEM infused culture, Walt Clark Middle School will academically challenge and support each student to be a problem solver of the 21st century. Instructional practices focus on:
- Rigorous and relevant curriculum in all content areas
- Building and sustaining community connections to mentor students through their learning
- Establishing relevance and exploration of college and career pathways
- Cultivating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students
Walt Clark offers a wide range of opportunities for students through electives, athletics and activities. These include classes such as Technology Engineering and Design, Family and Consumer Studies, Art, Orchestra, Band, Choir, World Languages and Physical Education. We are also an AVID certified school with classes dedicated at each grade-level to supporting students with skills to be high school and college ready while also exploring career opportunities.
With a well-rounded, diverse offering of courses taught by an enthusiastic and creative staff, our students move on as critical thinkers ready to problem solve and rise up to challenges in high school and beyond.
