Cheryl O'Shell
Cheryl O'Shell has the privilege of working with TSD's youth in implementing restorative practices. Cheryl aims to help students make healthier connections with their teachers and peers, which in return assists in creating better understanding by the student. With her role, Cheryl is very pleased to watch students make positive changes in their lives.

Before wrapping up his middle school career in 2019 and moving to high school, Walt Clark Middle School 8th grader Chance Hill shared his thoughts on how TSD's independent studies program helps to advance kids further than ever before.
Michelle Stout
As a parent herself, Michelle Stout has always been connected to the Thompson School District Community. With her role as the District Enrichment Coordinator she has the privilege of working with TSD's gifted and talented students and parents.
Change the World Contest Winners
Thompson School District holds a "Thompson Kids Can Change the World" contest each year in the Spring, which recognizes students who are making a positive difference in their community. Each winner or team receives up to $250 in supplies and materials to help make their plans a reality. The 6th through 12th grade level winners for 2018 were a team of 7th graders at High Plains School: Teagan Clark, Olivia Culbertson, Malia Joshi, and Taylor Patterson.
Charlie Wond
Charlie Wond was a fifth-grader from Coyote Ridge Elementary School when, in April of 2018, he was one of the winners of the Save the World contest. His idea was to provide care packages for patients in local rehab centers.
Matt Neibauer
Matt has a passion for gardening and he wanted to share that with our students. He spent over a year seeking funding for a community garden and has established a garden club that is highly attended as well as strong, lasting relationships with the Mountain View Rotary club and our neighborhood. We have a beautiful garden--the kids have donated produce to the Larimer County Food Bank and held a Fall Festival for our families which also included donated produce as well as other goods. We owe our Garden and our students growing knowledge about gardening to Matt!
Shawna Lemons
Shawna Lemons is the band teacher at High Plains School. Teaching at a K-8 school gives her the unique opportunity to see students at many stages of the learning process.
Michelle Atwood
As the Summer Food Manager at Monroe Elementary School, Michelle Atwood serves hundreds of children and their families nutritious meals over the summer months. The Summer Food Service program provides children (18 months – 18 years) with breakfast and lunch free of charge. For Michelle, she loves how family oriented the program is. It gives families time and space to sit down and enjoy a meal together before the child heads to their school or summer activity.
Josh Robertson
Josh Robertson is an incoming 10th-grade student at Loveland High School. In 2017, Josh won TSD's "Thompson Kids Can Change the World" contest, which recognizes students who are making a positive difference in their community. Having graduated from Centennial Elementary School, Josh wanted other students at the school to have the opportunity to get outside and enjoy the beautiful world around them. Josh transformed an unused area by the school into an outdoor classroom.
Cori McCallister
Cori McCallister is an 8th grade teacher at Bill Reed Middle School. This year, Cori piloted UC Health's BStrongBFit program at the middle school level. The program promotes physical activity through running, and includes lessons that emphasize health and positive self esteem. By providing this program, Cori helps girls blossom and find confidence at a young age.
Lindy Jones
Lindy Jones is a 1st grade teacher at Laurene Edmondson Elementary School. After recieiving an OtterCares grant, Lindy started the Design to Sew club. The after school program invites all grade and skill levels to participate. Within the program, students complete a number of service projects, such as making pillowcases for children in local hospitals as well as learning how to work with sewing machines.
Shawn Murphy
Shawn Murphy teaches orchestra at Thompson Valley High School and Walt Clark Middle School. Having played the violin for over 35 years, Shawn teaches his students to love their craft. To him, everyone has the ability to play. You don’t have to be a professional musician, but you can appreciate and support the arts.
Olivia Bergsten
Olivia Bergsten is a 5th grade student at Berthoud Elementary School. In 2017, Olivia won TSD’s “Thompson Kids Can Change the World” contest, which recognizes students who are making a positive difference in their community. She wanted to comfort children in area hospitals who were struggling with illness and needed encouragement, especially those without family in the area. She created Project Comfort and provides blankets to children and others in need.
Nanci LaBianca
Nanci LaBianca is an Interventionist at High Plains K-8. Apart from being the school’s Interventionist, Nanci has brought her love of theater to the students. This year, she adapted a Christmas book into a script for the production of, The Christmas Orange. This was the school’s first drama performance and a major highlight for students, families and community.
Rick Moehling
Rick Moehling started the Live Laugh Love Believe, Inc. in memory of his wife, Vicki, who was a member of the Walt Clark Middle School staff and passed away from Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS). Vicki was very passionate about the school’s greenhouse and Rick continues that passion in her memory. Over the last four years, the foundation has donated money to WCMS to support the greenhouse and their STEM focus. Each year the foundation hosts a golf tournament and proceeds from the tournament are donated back to the school.
Allison Hall
Allison Hall is a senior at Mountain View High School. For over seven years, Allison has played the flute. The flute not only allows her to express herself when words can’t but connect to others in a special way. This year, Allison was chosen to perform on the CSU Honor Band. While she doesn’t plan to major in music in college, she knows it will still remain a big part of her life.
Kendra Fleischman
Kendra Fleishman is an art teacher at Berthoud Elementary School. She teaches students how to appreciate a variety of different art forms in and out of the classroom. Outside the classroom, Kendra is part of a cutting-edge movement creating sculptures using digital/video technology. She is a world-class sculptor with pieces featured all around the United States. You can view her work locally at Benson Sculpture Garden and in the permanent collection at the Loveland Museum.
Julian Overholt
Julian Overholt is an eighth-grade student at Walt Clark Middle School. When the school’s storage room became inaccessible due to scooters being thrown in without a system, Julian came up with a solution. Using a “design thinking process”, Julian created a rack to store and organize scooters in the building. The rack has had a positive impact on the school and is used on a daily basis.
